The Nicolis Museum of Cars, Technology and Mechanics, located in Villafranca, Verona, is an original collection of historical cars, motorbikes, bicycles and also musical instruments, cameras, typewriters and other items of human genius. It is a celebration of the development of means of transport and a unique exhibition of vintage vehicles, motorbikes and bikes.
Nicolis Museum gives life and witness to the four-wheel myth with a display of hundreds of perfectly working cars, all restored to their original splendor: Cottereau, Bianchi, Alfa Romeo, Ford, BMW, Maserati, Cadillac, Fiat, Bugatti, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lancia, Rolls Royce are some of the model shown.
In addition to historical cars, the Nicolis Museum houses a collection of vintage motorcycles made up of over a hundred items: bicycles, scooters and motorcycles. The collection also includes the first models of bikes, called celeripedes , bicycles, tricycles, and racing bikes.
Being near Valerio Catullo airport, the museum also houses a sectiond edicated to aeronautics: some vintage aircraft, engine models, accessories and technical equipment are displayed.
The Museum of Cars, Technology and Mechanics also exposes many engine models of vehicles, motorcycles, airplanes and ships, because the history of vehicles passes through the technical tools that constitute them.
The extensive museum collection also includes a collection of typewriters and a wide range of cameras, including stereoscopes viewers and magic lanterns and related accessories. The Nicolis Museum includes also other technical masterpieces such as musical instruments, i.e. sound boxes, phonographs, Dictaphones, pianolas and melodeons, a collection of steering wheels and other related items.
There are also some thematic exhibitions: Enrico Bernardi Area, one of the first inventors of petrol fuelled combustion engine; Late 1800 Europe, a reconstruction of a possible moment in daily life during scientific revolution; Military area, dedicated to war vehicles; and a reproduction of a vintage workshop.
Nicolis Museum, besides the modern exhibition space, also offers an ideal service for conferences and meetings, providing exclusive areas for exhibitions, congresses, product launches, business and corporate events. Among the activities organized at the museum center. there is a teaching area for students, a Documentation Centre which includes an archive and a library, and a shop specialized in automotive theme. |
