Official web site of the italian rugby football team Rugby Viadana (Mantova), which takes part in the italian championship rugby league, Italy rugby cup and european challenge cup. Rugby Viadana is one of the best italian rugby teams and won the italian championship of rugby in 2002 and the Italy rugby cup in 2000, 2003 e 2007.
Born in 1970, Rugby Viadana began playing in division D, the lowest division of the italian championship of rugby. In 1998 the italian rugby team of Viadana reached the Division A of the italian championship rugby league.
In its first year in the italian championship of rugby A1, Rugby Viadana won the Italy rugby cup (Italian National Cup), beating all the best italian rugby teams and becoming a new reference point for rugby in Italy.
A reform in the italian championship of rugby took place in 2000, when the championship rugby league A1 changed into the italian Super 10, the top ten elite of italian rugby. In the same year Rugby Viadana won its first shield. It was the first time that a town non-capital of a province won the italian shield of rugby.
In the following seasons Rugby Viadana won the Italy rugby cup for the second time in 2003 and took place in the european challenge cup, becoming one of the most important italian rugby teams. In 2007 the rugby viadana team won the third italian cup.
